Why Dhonuskodi said as a Ghost area

Dhonuskodi is important tourism for all Indians. It is located at Rameshwaram in Tamil Nadu. From the belief of ancient Indian people, it is said that Lord Shri Rama build a bridge here to reach Lanka. People say this area is a ghost area. Many pilgrims come to visit The Rameshwaram temple throughout the year. They come to Dhonuscodi after their visit to the temple darshan in their Rameshwaram tour program.

It is called the Ram Setu also. One side of this place is the Indian Ocean and the other is the Bay of Bengal. Dhanushkori has already taken place in the mythological story. You will find the good fortune of seeing the 'bridge' created by the floating rock floating in the hand of 'Nol’ and ‘Neel’.

Dhonuskodi was a city before. A market, post office, shops, and locality were present here. But it is said that after rescuing Sita Devi when Lord Rama returned then Bivishana requested Lord Rama to destroy that Ram Setu. But it is said that a violent ocean storm destroys the total city in a moment, it is also said that about 1.5 lac people sank in this ocean at a moment. The destruction of the city is present today.

After the evening you will hear the cry of the crowd here. There is no tower location here. If you use a multi-connection mobile yet you do not get any towers in this area. Nobody gets allowed to go here after the evening because they may not come alive fitfully. It is a floating area where a hidden oceanic wave is passing under this island. So it is very risky to travel to Dhonuskodi. 

The government tries to decorate this city new. A fine road is built. But both side of the road is lonely.No one cottage or house is not built here because there is no one residing there. Sometimes this area is flooded by the oceanic wave, so it is risky to go without the information of full tide.

 This is the crowd less generally. So you will get nothing even drinking water too. After the afternoon people cannot able to stay here due to an unknown fear. Perhaps the loneliness in this area may be the main cause. Although the villagers far away from this place say that they hear the cry of humans at night. They believe that it is a haunted area. The Tamil Nadu Government does not allow anybody to come here especially from the afternoon tonight.

Its beach area is made of white sand. The hidden current has flowed here dangerously. People may be affected by its Quick Sand at any moment. So I'll request you to go here by following the guidelines of The Tamil Nadu Government instructions.

South India is called the land of the temple. Among them, the Rameshwaram temple is an icon of Hindu mythology. People come to the Rameshwaram tour from far away from our country and abroad. Besides this temple, they come to visit this ghost area too.
